1626 Life Skillz Inc. is a nonprofit organization committed to supporting young people aged 16 to 26 a critical period often overlooked in social services. We believe that real change happens when we address not just the symptoms of poverty and instability, but the root causes.
That’s why we take a holistic approach, offering programs that include housing assistance, career and entrepreneurship training, transportation, education support, mentorship, and life skills development. We walk alongside youth as they transition into adulthood, helping them move from survival to self-sufficiency—with dignity, guidance, and support.
To guide, support, and empower youth aged 16–26 through holistic, life-changing programs that address both immediate needs and long-term goals.
A world where every young person has the opportunity, support, and tools to thrive—personally, creatively, and professionally.
The name 1626 reflects the age range we serve. These years—between 16 and 26—are often filled with uncertainty, especially for youth facing housing instability, lack of guidance, or disconnection from school and work. We step in at this crucial point with the resources and care they need to succeed.
While many programs address single issues like job training or shelter, we know that real impact comes from integrating support. Whether a young person needs a place to sleep, help with school, or someone to believe in them, we meet them where they are and walk with them toward independence.
"We don’t just teach skills — we build confidence, stability, and purpose."
Whether you’re a school, a business, a mentor, or a donor—you can play a part in shaping a better future. Let’s work together to create lasting change for the next generation.
