Sakina Abdul-Malik is a seasoned educator, community builder, and advocate for holistic, faith-centered learning, with over four decades of dedicated service. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Syracuse, she has spent her life supporting individuals and families through education, outreach, and community development.
Her work spans a wide range of impactful initiatives, including feeding programs, weekend schools, and hands-on workshops in sewing and homesteading. She is deeply committed to promoting self-sufficiency, practical life skills, and strong moral character, helping individuals build purposeful and productive lives.
As a mother of fourteen children, Sakina’s passion for education is reflected in her extensive experience with homeschooling, where she created a structured and nurturing learning environment rooted in discipline, creativity, and a love for knowledge.
Her dedication to sustainable living continues to shape her work today. An avid gardener and emerging beekeeper, she actively teaches others to reconnect with the land and develop skills that support long-term community resilience.
Through her role at 1626 Life Skillz Inc., Sakina leads community outreach efforts, strengthens relationships, and plays a vital role in expanding the organization’s impact.
